For about two months, it had become increasing difficult to purchase fuel. The news of importation of bad fuel and the argument over subsidy can be pointed as culprits to these problem.

Even with this, in February the beginning of the fuel scarcity, the price of fuel has officially not seen a significant rise with the National average seeing a jump of just 2.52% in January.

On the average Fuel was more expensive in Nothern part of the country than in the South, even with the SE having the highest average price compared to other regions.

A difference of N24.09 was observed between the states with the highest and lowest prices, Kaduna and Jigawa, both in the NW region.
